Thought that I would work from a painting by Colley Whisson. I see that I didn't quite get the center far tree to separate from the background well. I'll paint a few more from his newest book, see if i get a little mojo from down under.

This is the challenge for this week. All the detail in the ref photo got to be too much. I tried to keep detail to a minimum, however, didn't feel like i pulled it off. I think the taxi looks like one though.

Below is a carving by an artist from Southwest harbor, Sandy Bridges. It's a Woodcock and is carved out of bass wood and took about 300 hours to complete.
