Country road

9x12 oil

Wanted to get the shadows that were cast across the road. The road did lean over to one side, this looks a little too much. Also show the slope of the hill with the cows. Don't say rhynos. This was 7:15p Sunday.

Leaving Ship harbor

12x16 oil on hardborad

Some folks leaving ship harbor. The water had a strong green tinge to it. This little tree needed to go to the gym.

Westlake pond

9x12 oil on canvas panel

This is a little tanque/pond about 10 miles as the crow flies from me. Not a single cow in the field on this side of the road, but there were some long horns at the school yard down the road. The tree on the right is one of those oaks that have a mushroom shape, but that tree by the water looked like it had died but then some green shoots sprouted at the ends of the broke off limbs. About every model of porsche was breathing down my neck while i was putting around this area.

Lobster pots

9x12 oil on canvas panel

This is the fourth painting in a row that didn't come out well. I scrapped the first three. I'll have to check the old timers to see how they made it work. No worries though.

Tossing stones in the fjord

9x12 oil on canvas panel

Worked on some figures for this one. That's a life preserver that the kid in yellow is wearing. Have to touch up the water line on the left there, weave it into the water a bit.

Hay barn

8x10 oil on wood

Just a hay barn off in the distance.

2 green and 1 red

8x10 oil on wood

More fruit for Saturday night.

Failing barn

8x10 oil on wood

Just a barn falling in on it's self. That gate fencing is made of metal and looked like it was being taken down for parts else where on the farm.

reworked country side

Just rethinking the last post and reworking it some. Still think i should have made the fields lighter.

Country lane

8x10 oil on wood

Not really feeling good about this effort. The road drops away from vied down hill and i'm not sure if it reads well just by changing the road width. I really wanted to make the tree look real and I don't feel good about that either. Should have made the close grass values higher and richer. I'll get it next time.

Here are some more of those purple thistles.

Farm barn

8x10 oil on wood

This is a barn a ways north of the last landscape painting.

Cup cake challenge

8x10 oil on wood

Here's my take on the current challenge. I thought that spritzing paint on for the sprinkles, but i don't think it came out so well. I put on a think impasto layer for the frosting, then carved into it with colored brush work.

"V" Gate

8x10 oil on wood

I saw this gate this afternoon. I had a Circle with a "V" in the center. A little hard to see against the sky.

Some cattle down the road from the painting. One looks like a Appaloosa.

Here are some thistles i saw down the road from the cattle. Never saw them this intense, most times they are washed out purple.

Putting the green to work.

Pewter mug with fruit

8x10 oil on wood

Yes, green fabric today. Those are still the same apples and the purple in the mug is my shirt reflection.

Two green in front

8x10 oil

Shouldn't have put the bottle in. I'm not going to give up on those fabric folds either.
