Challenge Beach

24 x 48  oil on hardboard

I think this is the final for this painting. It's for the  challenge.  If you look close you can tell that the sand has a wet look, which I made with a glaze. Each figure took an hour and I didn't do very well on the lady.  The dude and kid came out well. I even put  in a gull on top of the rocks land a few in the sky if you can find them.
Below is a section of the horizon line .

Wow! You took this challenge and supersized it! I'm glad you gave the dimensions. It's quite something. Very moody, interesting colors. Well done!

Thanks for sharing the pieces of this one. Reminds me of the Oregon coast.

Great job Mark! Very courageous to go 24 x 48. Your figurative painting is getting better and better. I also enjoy seeing your cloud photos. I find a partly cloudy sky is much more interesting than a clear sky. Keep up the good work!

I think your reflections on the sand are my favorite in the DSFDF challenge so far. Really pretty colors, too!

I'd like to pass on the Passion For Painting award to you. Your mission - should you choose to accept it - is to name seven things you love in your blog, then pass the award on to seven more artists. List their links in a blog post and notify them of their award in their comments. Of course none of this is mandatory, but it does help publicize your blog. :)
