Pepper in cup

click photo 6x6 oil on masonite

Still going with the pepper. It gets these reflective highlights on the shadow side, and i can't seem to put them in with finesse.

subway

9x12 oil on canvas panel

Tough going on this one. This was the different strokes from different folks weekly painting.  Should have just worked on the man in chair cause he is so small in this painting.  I'll do that next time, to get a better likeness

Dos Peppers

6x6   oil on masonite

Don't know why it looks a little washed out. No telling. That red pepper's values are tough to get close. That's the bottom of a green pepper, folded upon itself.

More Corn

10x8 oil on masonite

Still keeping at it. Thought this one is a little more proper, but too messy.

Indian corn

8x10 oil on masonite

Thought that I would give this a go. I guess it looks like corn. I'll need to keep working on different arrangements to use the corn.

Brused pear

6x6 oil on masonite

Put the spot light on the pear which was on black paper, curled up behind the pear so that it's cast  shadow could be seen. Didn't really come out as well as I hoped. Getting that yellow-green skin to show values that round the pear are a problem for me. Think if I use a bigger brush and make more abstractive strokes will do it, next time.

spot lit pepper

6x6 oil on masonite

Made a little spot light for the pepper. Didn't do too bad a job. Kept it to single brush strokes.

Three pears

6x6 oil on masonite

Was trying to smudge the paint to get a progressive value. The edges were very sudden but i didn't pull it off. I tried to do it with single strokes first but,   i'm tired.

September Pear on minican

6x6 oil on masonite

Doesn't seem the values are right. They are a tad darker on the pears dark side, but dark enough . Must be the can.   right!

I liked this little can.
