Soaking Pear

6x6 oil on  masonite

Sidelit Pear

107 out side in the shade and 80 in side.

6x6 oil on masonite

Simple side lit brown Pear. It's not one of those redish pears thought. You can see the gesso waves in the painting, not the paint.

Flowercan

Tried a more thicker application of paint. Doesn't look good. Need to turn this around.

Flower 3

6x6  oil on masonite

Turned the flower to see the bulbous back side of the flower. Not happy with this one either. The shadows with the prismatic wedge were more interesting.

flower 2

6x6  oil on masonite

Doing every petal is making this painting sloppy. Now I'm sure I have a demo in a book somewhere. But I have an idea for a more abstract and cleaner rendering.  And changing containers for the flower.

Craptaculars

6x6 oil on masonite
6x6 oil on masonite

Couldn't get it together yesterday.  Tried twice.  Made the on side cup too long.  The upper painting was a olive jar with water in it.  Couldn't get the pear right or the jar.

Solo pear

6x8 oil on canvas

Not to great of a effort.  The camera makes the shadows iridescent and that bugs me.  I should have used a different background color. I think I know what i'll do next time.

12x16  oil on masonite from a photo 2007 This is from a Calvin Liang. I was trying to get a feeling of his seascape colors.  I would say in 3000 to 4000 more paintings I should get closer to his.

Lemon snuck in there. Another after work effort. Didn't do any magic on this one.

Tres y sour

6x8 oil on canvas panel

Took for ever to load these photos. I like painting the tomatoes. Put the lemon slice in there for spice.
Somesville Rock 6x8 oil on canvas 2007

This is one of my fav rocks. It's at the end of the only Fjord in the lower 48 states. The water on the lower left looks somewhat like it's running down hill to the left when in fact it's moving down to the right.  The tide is out.
