All single strokes, no scrubbies. I think these came out well. The reflected light into the dark side of the tomato I'm a little unsure about.

Looks a little better than the rest. It was done with scrubby brush work. Not what I'm wanting to improve on. I want to work on single brush strokes and leave them.

Another craptacular effort.  The drawing of the cut out melon is off. Rats. There was limited side lighting on the melon, and i wanted to show the up the light area, but was a little shy with the values. I think that i divided my concentration between the two areas and  ended up cutting my focus on both.   :(  

Watermelon

I can see that not showing the L shape of the cut out wedge makes the upper right confusing. This angle of comp was low and the light was at an angle that made the upright portion of the cut melon light. I have and idea for the next one though. You know,I wish there were a Art Students league, of Dallas.

Thought that I would show the melon before the consumption. I still made the back ground too light again. :(  I made the light shine on the rose and it kept the rest of the subject under lit. Well, that''s what i was going for anyway. It was up to 101 when i started this one.

The value of the light side of the rose is too close to the background. I was carried away playing in the paint.

It's 9:30pm and still 92 out side.  Up to 102 today, a cool rain would be nice. This is an earthenware cup that Steve Fowler made back in 82.

That reflective surface is a tough one. That alizarin is so siruppy that i couldn't get a good suggestion reflection. I gave it a go though.

Didn't get to the store to look for the watermelon.  Used 834kw energy this past month. Last month 250kw. I'm checking my lottery numbers now.  :p

I wanted to see if i could get a likeness of the roses. This set up shows my pochade box top as easel.  It's 20 deg. cooler right now than all week.

Not firing on all cylinders. Jammed a finger and a little hip dysplacia. Tried a second painting and couldn't pull that one off either. I'm thinking a slice of watermelon.  :)

Little glare on this but it's 98.2 outside and i'm not reshooting. It would be nice to have more than two days a year that i can open the patio door and let in some fresh air.

I think I got the translucent quality in a few places. But it still looks weak. Fruit fly licking his chops while I did this.
