Yes it's just grapes. They are the black version and not the red ones from the other day.

Still at it. I think this is closer to reality. The front drop of the cloth looks better.

Still working on the folds. I made these shadows lighter. That seemed to be some of the problem with the past few. The folds that are at the quarter up and really on a downward edge but still in the same light. I think that should have been dropped out of the direct light to show more downward drop of the cloth, and a stronger edge at the junction of the top plane and front.

I'm thinking that the shadow is too dark. Also the crest of the right fold should be a halftone  and it's too sharp. I'll get them tomorrow.

Still trying on the folds. I'm thinking even though i value matched the two shadows of the folds, maybe is should really go with just a subtle grayish, lighter value. hmmmm.  I see the softer edge move to the dark shadow ending with a hard sharp edge. Mine don't look like folds though.

Need to keep at it until i get it right. Maybe it's the angle that i'm looking from. I doubt it, there must be something. My set up lamp burned out just as i finished so it was a sigh to pause and think about it all. I was squinting on these past two.

Working on painting folds. This seems way off. I would say i wasn't painting what i see. Dang!

Spring and oranges

I don't think that the flowers stand out well from the background. The cup is light green. The stamens had little red caps at the ends.  So i'll go with a dark back ground next time. The flowers are bunched together, and i only took a few out this time. If I mass in the flower bunch in a cool shadow color and then put in white petals, it might come out better.

I painted over yesterday's craptactular painting. I think this came out well. I could have made the whites more pure and lighter but it came out well for me.

Tin & orange

This is a matte tin which reflected a different color than those the subjects were sitting on.  The orange was dull because the light wasn't shinning through, but on it.

That's the pepper in with the bananas. I put the light close to the subject to bleach out a little bit. I used the #6 bristle for the whole painting and the #2 in a few spots. It looks like it needs stronger values. I didn't want to over do it. I need to work with a little medium to thin the paint and make it flow some what.  Maybe.

Three pears

Was trying to smudge the paint to get a progressive value. The edges were very sudden but i didn't pull it off. I tried to do it with single strokes first but,   i'm tired.

Mom's tomato and vase

Had to paint this funny shaped tomato and her cool greenish vase. The tomato is about 3 inchs long, a dinky one.

Little glare on photo. The left one doesn't have such a strong blue. Did I get impressionistic? No, it's the photo.
