Saw these flowers and thought that i might be able to get a gestural painting out of them.

Very challenging to come close, but fun to move paint around. The red came through the flowers and into the cast shadows. I'm thinking i might like to try to be more realistic but the flowers are wilting even though i've got them in water. Maybe i'll do just one blossom.
